In mythology, what was typically used to vanquish a demon? We should make a record of it.

There was the Seal of Solomon, depicted as either a pentagram or hexagram shape inside a circle that supposedly gave King Solomon the ability to summon and bind demons to do his bidding.

That was not a way to vanquish them, however.

Correct. We don't know much of Ryslig's own mythology apart from what we've heard here and there on the gods. Maybe looking up more of the Night's own stories could offer a clue, considering the men and women of Rota worship it.

Right, you were dead before it happened. A fire broke out in Rota. During the confusion, I climbed into the pit they had been holding you in, and carried you both out.

So whatever they had used to keep us there was gone as a result...

I had a feeling there would be a fire soon. I'm certain whatever they had put in there included gasoline.

And the town's current status?

So I was informed.

It's been reduced to ashes.

I have no doubt they would have continued to try and capture the rest of you, had they managed to destroy most of us in that pit without incident.

Don't be too excited at the prospect. The town may be gone, but the Rotans live. While some seemed to kill themselves, there were a number that fled, and others that were rescued by us. If they plan on doing anything like this in the future, there will be odd ends.

Not enough to cause issues for a while, at the very least.

Just a few of them shouldn't pose as much of a threat as and entire town. Especially if you did rescue some of them and they were grateful for it.

The fact I bother keeping a few of them as patients on the spa side right now, they better have some honor. What they did to all of you cannot be forgiven.

If not that, there has to be something in their own God's teaching about this.

Demons and Monsters rarely show mercy in most mythology. They are used as tools for warning and to teach, rather than inspire.

You are probably making them reconsider many things, I suspect.

I doubt I'll make them reconsider that much. They'll recall soon enough that I still pray on humans.

Respect, Awe or Fear are rather connected when it comes to these situations.
