I haven't recently. When was the last time you saw him?

The first day of fog. After that, I was out of the house.

[Dead, and killing a Fog follower, but he won't say that.]

I came back the last day of the fog, and he was nowhere to be found. Beat, either, though he seems to have left on his own decision. But Neku left his device at the house.

I see. Odd. Doesn't he usually take his device?

I've never known him not to have it on him if he goes somewhere.

I suppose there's a first time for everything, but this just seems suspicious. He hasn't disappeared, or his device would be offline.

I could see him leaving it behind if he was only to be gone briefly. Even then, he would inform you of his whereabouts.

So, what do you suspect?

Yes, but at this point, he's been gone for a week. Perhaps longer, considering.

He hasn't left this place, or his device wouldn't be online. He hasn't died, because it was still foggy when I returned to the house, so he would have immediately revived. It's possible he could have died after the fog left, and that's why he hadn't returned, but it's foggy again now and he isn't here.

I suspect he may have been taken. There have been roaming bands of rioters in the streets of Bavan the last couple of nights. But if he was taken, it's hard to say exactly who did it.

I know the rioters you're talking about, and they're not roaming about with the intention of capturing. I doubt any humans would be bold enough to directly approach your home either, but you were absent momentarily. Are there any signs of a struggle?

Nothing that stands out, outside of the normal teenage messiness. He hasn't been here in a while, though. His scent is fading.

Of course.

Work has been called off this week due to the rioting, by the way, so if you're in need of help at the clinic, I'm available for now.

I could always use some extra help, and this week is no exception. I'll see you here soon.

[It doesn't take him long, actually. He's there within a half hour.]

[Well, that was fast. Naomi doesn't have any plans to put him to work immediately; instead, she walked over to him, considering to pet him, but deciding against right now.]

Didn't encounter any trouble getting here I hope.

[Joshua didn't expect he would be immediately put to work. The only reason he arrives as early as he does is because the house is rather... large and empty with only him there. And with the scent of the others fading...]

None at all.

[He's having a bad enough time as it is; she didn't want to hear that some people decided to hassle him. Raising a hand now, she decides to give one of his ears a scratch before leading him on.]

Alright, we have some fresh fog cases.

[He's hardly having a bad time. Any melancholy at all is over the fact that Beat blatantly disobeyed his wishes. That's all.

His ear does twitch when Naomi's hand touches it, but both fold back immediately after.]

Ah? New transformations?

[That would sound bad enough to her, but oh well.]

That's right. Not only that, but we have roaming humans. They're not really hunters, but they've been catching some newer monsters during their vulnerable moments.

[Joshua does not admit to having bad times. Ever.]

I've been making it a point to avoid the ones hunting monsters... Are they badly injured?

The humans may be 'hunting', but it seems as though more of us are helping protect those turning. They're more in pain from the transformations than their aggressors.

Ah. I see. Typical injuries and aches, then.

[Being involved in the medical field is something he never pictured himself doing, but being voluntold has definitely helped. He still doesn't enjoy doing it and wouldn't do it for a profession, but... helping Naomi isn't so terrible. As long as he doesn't have to do anything involving bodily fluids.]

What do you want me to do?

Exactly.

[No worries there. She's taking care of most of those bodily fluids. Mostly blood, but each patient has their own problems.]

I need medicine delivered to several rooms, and one of my residents misplaced a chart. If you could try looking for that; their scent should still be on it.

[Good, good. He's fine with helping, in that case. Cleaning up and keeping things tidy is one thing, but anything having to do with the human body is just disgusting.]

I suppose I could look. Do you want me to deliver the medicine as well, or are you covering that?

Deliver the medicine first, and then look for the chart. I have to go check on the progress of the new batch since we're cutting into our supplies right now.
